CANON HISTORY: Wiki Link I'll be taking her from the Revelations path, if that's relevant.
CANON PERSONALITY: Although she hails from the frosty climes where the Ice Tribes from the northern edge of the Kingdom of Nohr dwell, Felicia is anything but frosty in demeanor. The warmth of her smile and her innate optimism stands out in sharp contrast to her more reserved twin sister, Flora, and no one would ever guess after a single encounter with this clumsy young maid that she is technically a hostage of the Nohrian military. Both Felicia and Flora are the daughters of Kilma, the chieftan of the Ice Tribes, and they were abducted when they were young as a means of quelling possible rebellion from their homelands. Although it's clear that Flora still holds a deep loyalty to her bretheren and a need for justice against King Garon, Felicia is-- thankfully-- oblivious to the grander political schemes that happen around her.
In keeping with the themes of loyalty to family by blood or by choice that are present within this game, Felicia stands as one of the two figures who choose to side with the people she cares about and loves, regardless of whether or not they need to fight against their homelands and even siblings in the grander scheme of the overarching plot. While Felicia, in her moments where she seems to be fairly observant, clearly cares for her sister and her family in the Ice Tribes, she can't bring herself to hurt Corrin-- one of the few people in her life who has supported her regardless of her personal flaws. In fact, despite her capabilities as a soldier on the battlefield, she would much rather not fight with anyone if she can avoid it. She states repeatedly, to Corrin and other characters, that there are more than enough people who can fight in their rag-tag little army-- what they need is more people who can clean and cook, which is what Felicia strives to be like for the sake of the army.
Unfortunately, her clumsiness is so severe that she isn't able to carry a tray of tea across a room without spilling it at some point. The sounds of plates breaking, glasses shattering, and cries of alarm as scalding tea is accidentally dumped onto some poor soul are common when Felicia is around, much to her own chagrin. Although she is a dedicated and eager worker, her lack of confidence in her own abilities consistently gets in the way of her being the graceful and elegant maid that she wishes to be. Her sister Flora is her role model in this regard, as is the butler, Jakob, who also chooses to follow Corrin regardless of the path they take in the game. Indications that she is anything less than worthy of being a maid in Corrin's service because of her clumsiness are the one thing that will earn a temperamental and feisty reaction from the normally bubbly young woman, and she will refuse to accept those arguments or anything less than an apology from the other party on this matter. Both royalty and her equals are treated the same in this regard. Long time allies and strangers, similarly, are also treated the same.
However, the problem that Felicia faces in this regard is the fact that she is a far better fighter in the field than she is a maid. Thanks to the firm and kind hand of the old soldier Gunter, who guarded Corrin and the castle where they all resided, Felicia became a competent fighter to such a degree that Flora is jealous of her skill, and the Hoshidan ninja Saizo repeatedly tries to convince Felicia to become his apprentice until she explains to him the exact reasons why she can't accept such an offer, and why she still innocently believes that she will be able to excel in her service regardless of her lack of skill.
Felicia's innocence and desire to help others is both a strength and a flaw for her. It's a strength because it allows her to surmount the odds and firmly believe that everything will turn out all right in the end, but it works against her because she can easily be blinded to what's happening around her and will jump into dangerous situations without forethought of the consequences. This is how Flora and their father, Kilma, were able to keep her in the dark about their political positions for so many years, and why she put herself at great risk to rescue Corrin from a deadly fever when they were children. Helping others is the same as helping herself, in her opinion-- she feels useless if she's not able to help the people who have helped her. And, even though she is observant enough to notice Prince Xander hiding as he watched her practice her duties as a maid in secret, she simply chooses to see the best everything and everyone.
During the times when she can't lie to herself about what's happening around her, Felicia does break down into tears. But, she also recovers from those tears quickly and rises above the call of duty to stand next to the people she cares for regardless of the trials that may come. Her loyalty and dedication serves as the source of her strength and, even though she trips and cries her way through the battlefield every step of the way, her strength never once wavers. She is an excellent retainer because of this, regardless of her skills as either a combatant or a maid.
SKILLS/ABILITIES: Besides her learned skills in the domestic arts as a maid and as a fighter with high resistance to offensive magic who can use healing artifacts, daggers, and shuriken, the most notable 'power' of Felicia's is her affinity with ice. While she's not capable of feats like calling spears of ice to rain from the sky, her association with the element is enough to cause the ambient temperature surrounding her to drop to freezing levels when she is angered or in a panic. She can also manifest small amounts of ice when she concentrates, but it's nothing that is usable for practical purposes-- rather, she uses it to tease close friends and comrades, most explicitly Corrin in the epilogue of the story. Additionally, she capable of utilizing the Ice Tribe's traditional technique of drawing heat unto herself on an instinctive level, although it's noted that this is dangerous to use. Her use of this skill as a child in healing Corrin of a terrible fever took such a toll on Felicia that she was left deathly ill as a result. Besides in conversations about the past, however, we never see how this skill is utilized in actual gameplay.
As a reference, since power regains are possible in this game, Felicia's control over her ice powers are just as innately connected to her confidence as her clumsiness and relative skill as a maid. Her twin sister, Flora, at one point in the Revelations storyline froze over an entire harbor for the duration of a battle, and she overall shows far more refinement in her control over ice compared to Felicia-- although, like her sister, she never uses them in battle. It's entirely possible that Felicia, without the constraints of her own poor self image, would be capable of expressing a more fine-tuned level of conscious control over her ice in this iteration once it's regained and possibly freeze over small areas if that's allowable. She may never be able to freeze over a harbor like her twin sister, but it's also not in her nature to do so.
CHARACTER: AU SECTIONAU NAME: Felicia Kilmassen
AU AGE: 22
PHYSICAL DIFFERENCES: Very minor physical changes here. Felicia's hair will be more blonde in tone than her apparent natural pink, and she'll be more well physically toned just because she has a better diet. She still has a sensitivity to dairy products but, thanks to lactose pills, this isn't as big of an issue as it's suggested to be in canon.
AU HISTORY: - Felicia grew up as the daughter of a cargo pilot from the rural regions of Maine. After her mother died when she was in middle school, she and her sister moved to Recolle to stay with a relative while her father was away for weeks on end because of the nature of his work.
- Her grades were above average in school, and sometime during middle school she took up both track and the martial arts. She excelled at both, and was able to use her track experiences to get a scholarship for her college education.
- Post high school, Felicia enrolled in the physical therapy program at Recolle University. She does well in her classes, and at 22 she is closing in on completing her degree.
- During her freshman year of college she had a brief but very fun relationship with Penelope Raban that was unfortunately cut short due to the tragedy in Pen's life not long after that time. They reconnected again in recent months, and have hit it off as friends.
- She works at the local Gym to make a few extra bucks for tuition and any extra spending money that she wants, since her father's job allows him to make enough money for his daughters to live comfortably so long as they aren't spending outside of their means.
- Her connections through her job at the Gym have allowed her to meet various people in the city and form fast friendships with them to the point where they sometimes end up dating, and she occassionally takes up offers for a friendly spar while there.
-Currently, she is single and sharing an apartment with Light Averly, where she helps him with his mundane day-to-day difficulties and he helps her out with her studies. It's an odd friendship that seems to be working well for the both of them.

AU PERSONALITY: In this re-imagning of Felicia, the normally clumsy maid has become the 'Super Felicia' that she sometimes imagines herself to be when she's trying to talk herself through a particularly difficult task or encourage herself to do her absolute best in canon. While 'Super Felicia' isn't and never was the graceful and elegant maid Felicia dreamed of being in canon, she has become someone who is altogether more confident and comfortable in her skin for the purposes of play in Recolle. Her athletic prowess is no longer something she brushes to the wayside in favor of domestic tasks that she has a difficult time focusing on, but something she embraces with the entirety of her heart-- but, her desire to help people hasn't changed. This is why she is studying to be a physical therapist rather than the traditional nursing role that many JRPG healers would fall into, because her mind is simply geared for something more basic and hands-on with observable results after enough time and effort than the more delicate work that nursing or other medical trades often entails.
Her friendly, bubbly personality remains intact, and her fretful bluster that was formerly fueled by her lack of self esteem will be more like a sassy backbone that bolsters her than the soft tsundere trait she would occasionally hide behind. She is less naive due to the difference in circumstances, for her sister and father had nothing to hide from her; She is less prudish than she would be otherwise simply because of the difference in morals of the era, but her gentle heart and empathetic nature that she has in canon remains intact.
But, most important is the fact that she sees no reason to compare her skill to that of her sibling or any of her immediate peers.Felicia is nothing if not herself, and she is proud of the things that she has accomplished.
